Kinetica, Inc. is a testing and consulting
laboratory operated in Franklin, OH. The mission of Kinetica is to
assist the chemical process and allied industries in the
development and maintenance of inherently safe and efficient
manufacturing processes. Kinetica was founded in 1994 by
Dr. James M. Pickard under the U.S. Department of Energy Defense
Conversion Program.
Facilities and Equipment
The laboratory is equipped to support process
development, process safety analysis, and material
testing/characterization. The laboratory is licensed to work
with explosives and energetic materials. Current
instrumentation consists of accelerating rate calorimetry (ARC),
differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), quantitative reaction
calorimetry (QRC), solution calorimetry, and bomb calorimetry (BC).
